On Campus for the Summer? Dining Options are, too!
It may feel like campus is deserted during Summer A, but never fear: there are still plenty of dining locations open! Come find civilization in the midst of a barren campus and enjoy some food while you’re at it!
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first and highlight what locations are NOT open during Summer A so you don’t get your heart broken upon arriving at a darkened doorway. Devastatingly, Chick-fil-A is undergoing remodeling and will not be open during Summer A, but should be making a happy reappearance in Summer B. Likewise, some of our other favorites- Chop’d & Wrap’d, Slice, Panda Express, and Pita Pit- are all closed during Summer A. Hang tight, everyone, they will return.
Now for the relief of discovering what’s still open. Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean we don’t need caffeine to stay awake in class, so Starbucks is open Monday to Friday. The Osprey Cafe has adjusted hours (hint: not an option for early-risers), but is still open Monday to Friday. If you find yourself by the Student Union, Einstein Bro’s, the Boathouse, and Outtakes are all open Monday to Friday. The Outtakes in Alumni Square is also open. Jamba Juice is there to satisfy your summer cravings for all-things cold and refreshing (hellooo acai bowls), but only Monday to Thursday. If you’re living in Fountains this summer, you have the most luck because Ozzie’s is open all week long.
Pro-tip for the weekends: you might want to either make sure your pantry is stocked up or pick up food before you get to campus. If you do need to grab food while on campus, there are a couple, limited options. The only location open on Sundays is Ozzie’s, which is open from 10 am to 10 pm. On Saturdays, Ozzie’s is open from 10 am to 10 pm, and the Outtakes located in Alumni Square (not the one by the Student Union) is open from 8 am to 2 pm.
