The Inside Scoop on Where and What to Eat on Campus

Like most UNF students, you probably spend a majority of your day on campus and forget to bring food with you- maybe it’s too much to carry with that heavy backpack full of books?!

If that sounds at all like you, then UNF Dining has you covered with plenty of quick and healthy options all around campus. Let us give you some ideas on delicious and healthy options at all of our dining locations.

If you’re in the mood for something light and nutritious, Jamba Juice is located directly inside the student wellness complex. They have many healthy and delicious options to choose from. They have smoothies, California flatbreads, breakfast wraps, steel cut oatmeal and baked goods. One of the smoothies that impressed us was the Apple ‘n Greens which has a blend of apple and strawberry juices, kale, peaches, mangos and bananas.

Ozzie’s is another great spot to grab a snack or something a little more filling. They are located at the Fountains and have everything from breakfast items, to wraps and salads, chicken sandwiches to on-the-go snacks.

One of our favorite places to get a quick lunch or snack is Outtakes. Outtakes can be found in the Alumni Square: building 9, and at the Student Union. Similar to Ozzie’s, they have many grab-n-go options for everyone. This includes vegan and vegetarian options, fresh soups, dried fruit and nut mixes, and protein bars just to name a few. The Outtakes at the Student Union even serves Starbucks beverages.

Other than Outtakes, the Student Union is home to Panda Express, Einstein Bagels, the Boathouse, and Slice Pizzeria! Panda Express is an American Chinese cuisine restaurant that has many different options to choose from. You can ask for a "bowl" and get half brown rice, half mixed vegetables, and black pepper chicken for a delicious healthy option. Just make sure to follow the 'Smart Wok' icon to ensure your meals are well-balanced.

Another great place to eat is the Boathouse which is located on the second floor of the Student Union and has a large menu to choose from. Try their delicious Buffalo Chicken Salad (ask for grilled instead of tenders), Fish Tacos or the Build Your Own Burrito Bowl as a healthy meal the next time you go. The atmosphere is great to bring friends while studying, or stop by to play trivia and even enjoy some live music.

Einstein Bagels offers both breakfast and lunch items including bagels, sandwiches, wraps, fruit cups, smoothies, snacks and so much more. They now carry Caribou Coffee to compliment your next meal.

And if you are in the mood for some good old traditional pizza pies, try Slice Pizzeria. Whether you're looking for a single slice on the run, yummy garlic knots or a whole pie to split with some friends or family, this is definitely the place on campus to satisfy your cheesy-pizza cravings.

At the Alumni Square you'll find Chick-fil-A, Chop’d & Wrap’d, and Outtakes! At Chick-Fil-A you can find the grilled chicken market salad that is filled with fresh leafy greens, seasonal berries, sweet granola and roasted nut blend with a Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette. Whole wheat buns are available upon request and don't forget to substitute those fries for a fruit cup.

Chop’d & Wrap’d has colorful salads and wraps made to order, and even fresh handmade sushi!

Next to the library, you can find the 'go-to' coffee joint, Starbucks. If you find yourself in need of a mid-day boost, Starbucks is definitely the place to go. This popular coffee brewery not only offers a plethora of coffee beverages and delicious teas but you can also find wraps, sandwiches, whole fruits, yogurt, avocado spread, nutrition bars and nuts to fuel you before your next exam.

The Clubhouse is located near the Villages, and is home to Pita Pit. Enjoy various pita choices from the menu or create your own pita by picking a protein and then adding toppings like bell peppers, spinach or black beans.

The Clubhouse also offer options including quick sandwiches, salads, hot/cold drinks, breakfast, and snacks.

If you are looking for a variety of buffet-style food options, check out the Osprey Café! You can get almost anything to everything including made-to-order grilled items, two chef inspired action stations, vegan and vegetarian menu items, fresh pizza made in a hearthstone oven, a full hot entree station, pantry food section, colorful salad and fruit bar and a fresh smoothie station. There are all kinds of nutritious home-style choices made right here on campus. You can also plug in your laptop and do some homework while enjoying your meal at the Café!
